Fall Fun with Daddy

Early fall days have been spent supporting Daddy's GT Yellow Jackets and playing at Piedmont Park.  There's no mistaking Joey's Daddy.  They look more and more alike every day!

Terrific Ten!

On the incline in month nine

It is really hard to believe that Joey is already 3/4 of the way through her first year.  Joey is crawling and pulling up on anything and everything these days.  She loves attending Gymboree classes where she's already focused on being the teacher's pet and dominating all the play stations.  On the home front, we had to drop her crib to the lowest setting yesterday after she gave us quite a scare after climbing and falling out of her crib after her nap.  The crib was already dropped once, but Joey's a strong and determined little girl who wanted out! Luckily, she's a tough baby and is completely fine.  We had quite a talk yesterday about how climbing out of your bed isn't a good idea and neither Mommy, Daddy, nor Debbie appreciate her scaring us like that.  I think she really understood my point and took my message to heart...yeah...right.

Eight is great!

Joey's favorite activities these days include crawling around the house, desperately trying to befriend kitties, knocking down blocks, pool/bath time, and sprouting teeth.  Okay sprouting teeth is actually her least favorite activity, but it is regular occurrence these days.  After months of Mom falsely blaming drool, crankiness and other assorted issues on teething, it is great for her to finally be showing some chompers.    

Despite teething, Joey is still a very happy little girl.  She laughs frequently; although it is a quiet, cough-like laugh just like her Mommy.  Daddy's working hard to try and help her make some adjustments so that she learns to laugh like a normal person!

 

Seaside 2012

We went on vacation at the beginning of July to Seaside, Florida with some great friends: Ken, Angel, Richy, Hudson and Carter.  There were lots of laughs, great weather and pool time.  Joey wasn't such a big fan of the ocean.  It seems the crashing waves were just a little too loud for her liking.  She does love the pool though and was in heaven floating around in her personal raft.

Carter is only 3 months older than Joey, and she seems to learn new tricks every time she hangs out with him. She spent one night over at their house a few months ago and started crawling the next day.  During this trip, she sprouted a new tooth, tried cereal bars and puffs for the fist time and has now started trying to pull up on everything!
